Emma’s Approach

I believe the best healthcare is personalized, because there are few things more personal than our health. What works well for one person won’t necessarily work for another. In my clinic, I aim to create a safe, collaborative space with my patients. Finding some spaciousness, some peace, and some quiet while addressing your health concerns can be deeply transformative. East Asian medicine sees the body in a holistic way, we zoom out and look at the whole person, we zoom in and look at the details - it’s all important. Body, mind, spirit are all the same one thing in the end - aspects of the same ecosystem. My goal is to work with you to help bring your system into a greater sense of vitality, harmony, and resonance, and to address any of your specific health concerns each and every visit.

About Acupuncture

Acupuncture is an ancient healing modality that can be traced back to East Asia over 2000 years ago. Thin sterile stainless steel needles are inserted into different parts of the body to activate the body’s natural healing potential. These points are chosen based on the person’s constitution and the specific imbalances in their body. Needles are usually left in for 20-30 minutes. Most people experience a deep relaxation, and may even nap during their treatment.

This practice sees people of all ages, with all variety of health conditions. Acupuncture and herbs are great for acute and chronic health issues, as well as preventative care.

About Herbal Medicine

The herbs at this office are sourced from a company that has direct relations with local farmers in China. They are made from the highest quality herbs which are grown, harvested, and processed using ancient methods, and in doing so are persevering vital traditions. They are tested throughly for pesticides and heavy metals. Chinese herbs are almost always prescribed in formulas, meaning that multiple herbs are taken together in order to address many of the body's needs and provide a balanced and stable medicine.

The longer you have had a condition, the longer it tends to take to address it with either herbs or acupuncture. Herbs work in a multitude of ways, but often they help remind the body how to heal itself. This can have long lasting and profound impact.
